The humble beginnings of Dj Hecktic started with his early love of 90s Tamil music. Raised on music by composers such as A.R. Rahman, he developed an ear for the melody. The sounds of Hip-Hop and Dancehall heard in the streets of Toronto while growing up had a definite impact on what would eventually become the ‘Hecktic’ sound (the ‘Heartbeat of Music’). A hobby of blending personal favourites expanded into creating a fusion of cultures that leaves an impression on its listeners. Each project has been a stepping stone in evolving his trademark sound, and the decade long iMPULSE series has been a testament to this evolution.
