DJ Athirvu started his journey back in the early days where he learnt to beatbox and started to appreciate music as a whole. Then in 2006, he learned how to record sounds and loop them which sparked that interest in producing music and also studied the music of A.R.Rahman which really resonated with Athirvu. Being raised in Malvern, Ontario, he was exposed to different cultures and genres of music such as Hip Hop, Dancehall, Soca, Reggae and Electronic. He also began to take an interest in movie soundtrack scoring around this time. Athirvu took a pause in music to focus on finishing his studies and during this time, he realized music has always been a true passion of his and decided to restart his music career as a member of SOE. Dj Athirvu always wanted to have his art come with a message, whether it is to have a comedic flip to help address life’s challenges or to make one think of a topic on a deeper level. At the end of the day, the main motive that drove Athirvu is to have his work out there that can create a positive influence onto the communities whether that be a comedic or serious approach.
